ORDINANCE NO. 88 -25
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE
TITLE 2, SECTION 2.02.010, MEETINGS- -TINES
WHEREAS, Section 2.23 of the Home Rule Charter for Whatcom
County states that the County Council shall enact by ordinance
rules of procedure governing the time, place and conduct of its
meetings and hearings; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.02.010 of the Whatcom County Code states
that the regular meeting time of the Council shall be the first
and third Thursdays of each month at 7:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to begin its meetings at an
earlier time; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to scheduled a monthly.Committee
of the Whole meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Title 2 of the Whatcom
County Code be revised as follows:
2.02.010 Meetings - -Times
The regular meeting time of the Council shall be the
first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:30 p.m.
7:00 p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse, unless
decided otherwise by the Council. Special meetings may
be called by the Chairperson of the Council as
required, provided proper public notice and notice to
council members is given.
The Council shall also regularly meet as a Committee of
the Whole the second Thursday of each month at 7:00
p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse, unless decided
otherwise by a majority of the Council. The Chair of
the Council Finance Committee or a designee shall take
minutes at such Committee of the Whole meetings.
