AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REVISED
SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET TO THE 1988
SEWER CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR ADDI-
TIONAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE
FERNDALE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
WHEREAS, the proposed supplemental budget allows us to expend monies
for the correction of the vibration problem of the new effluent pump and other
minor problems; and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has requested and received approval from D.O.E.
to incorporate Change Order No. 10 for grant participation under contract WFG
83 -020 - Ferndale Wastewater Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the proposed revision also enables us to make improvements to
the telemetry and effluent skimmer of the Ferndale Wastewater Treatment Plant;
and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has requested and received approval from D.O.E.
to transfer available monies on Grant WFG 83 -040 to appropriate monies for engi-
neering; and
WHEREAS, the agreement between Harper -Owes and Whatcom County has been
modified to incopporate this additional work; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ferndale has budgeted sufficient funds for the
local share of project costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the 1988 budget be amended as
follows to increase appropriation authority to expend monies for additional
improvements to the Ferndale Wastewater Treatment Plant:
