2 ORDINANCE NO. 88 -2
3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER
3.32 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE
4 REGARDING SALES AND USE TAXES, TO
ELIMINATE CERTAIN PROVISIONS
5 AND REPEAL ORD. 83 -20
6 WHEREAS, Chapter 3.32 of the Whatcom County Code provides for the
enactment of the second half of a percent in sales and use tax;
7 and,
8 WHEREAS, Section 100 of Chapter 3.32 provides for annual
expiration of said chapter unless a separate resolution is passed
9 each year to allow continuation of the second half of a percent in
sales and use tax; and,

WHEREAS, this section is no longer useful in providing a mechanism
11 for insuring the need for continuing levy of this tax based on the
necessary operations of Whatcom County;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, Section 100 of Chapter 3.32 of the
13 Whatcom County Code is hereby eliminated as follows:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, all other sections of chapter 3.32 of the
18 Whatcom County Code remain in full force and effect.
