6 EMERGENCY REVISION TO
7 THE 1989 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,
8 MEDICAL EXAMINER'S APPROPRIATION
9 THEREIN FOR AUTOPSIES
10 WHEREAS, the number of apparent homicides and other violent deaths
11 has increased in the recent months; and
12 WHEREAS, this fact has increased the calls for autopsies beyond what
13 was anticipated in the 1989 Medical Examiner appropriation;
14 WHEREAS, an emergency exists since there is insufficient time before
15 year's end to follow the regular ordinance introduction and passage
16 schedule, with only one meeting remaining this year, and it is
17 imperative that the appropriation be available for year end
18 expenditures.
19 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, the 1989 Medical Examiner's budget
20 plan is hereby revised as follows:

22 00120 - 291.80.00.0000 Est. End Fd. Bal. $10,000
23 Budget Plan Enhancement:
24 00211 - 563.30.41.0100 Prof. Services $10,000
25 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, ordinance 88 -96 is hereby amended by adding
26 $10,000 in appropriation authority to the 1989 Current Expense Fund,
27 Medical Examiner appropriation therein.
28 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, an emergency does exist and this ordinance
29 shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval of the
30 Executive; further, the Whatcom County Council finds that this
31 ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
32 peace, health, safety and /or support of the government. This
33 ordinance shall expire on the sixtyfirst day following adoption,
34 without further action of the Council.
