THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF WHATCOM COUNTY,
ING THE 1988 -1989 ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR
IT DISTRICT NO. 8 AND AUTHORIZING
NTS PREVIOUSLY PAID.
WHEREAS, on Octob'r 20, 1988, the Whatcom County Council
passed Ordinance No. 8 85 which approved and confirmed the 1988-
89 assessment roll ford ad Improvement District No. 8 (RID No. 8)
in the amount of $44,00,; and
WHEREAS, since tI" time the Department of Public Works has
determined that the as al costs of the improvements for RID No.
8 were substantially I s than expected, because property owners
within RID no. 8 volun ered to undertake said improvements with
their own funds and the assessments levied and collected,
therefore, exceeded th ;actual costs of the County; and
WHEREAS, RCW 36. .100, 35.44.290 and 35.44.390 permit the
County to reassess prop 'ty within a road improvement district when
the assessments or ly confirmed no longer remain valid; and
WHEREAS, a revise 1988 -89 assessment roll has been filed by
the Department of Publx, Works, showing a reduction in the amount
assessed against each property owner within RID No. 8; and
