ORDINANCE NO. 89 -97
REVISION TO THE 1989 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,
PLANNING DEPARTMENT APPROPRIATION THEREIN
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Planning Commission is making extensive revisions
to the Shorelines Management Program; and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 89 -50 Council previously appropriated $1,000 to cover
professional service expenses related to the revisions; and
WHEREAS, more money is needed and the State Department of Ecology has offered
a coastal zone management grant to Whatcom County to be used in the adoptive process
of these amendments; and
WHEREAS, this grant is for $4,000 and requires $4,684 in local matching
contributions; and
WHEREAS, the County finds it in its best interest to accept the grant and develop
the necessary amendments to the Shoreline Management Program;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL, the 1989 Current
Expense Fund, Planning Department budget therein, is hereby revised as follows:

Subtotal Enhancements $ 4,000
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED Ordinance 88 -96 is hereby amended by adding $4,000 in
appropriation authority to the 1989 Current Expense Fund, Planning Department budget
therein.
