6 An Ordinance To Establish
7 The Whatcom County Drug Fund

9 Whereas, the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney established a What -
lo com County Drug Fund in 1979; and,
11 Whereas, moneys from convicted drug offenders have been placed into
12 this fund by court order and have been used to fight the battle against
13 drugs in this County, and
14 Whereas, this fund should be established by ordinance;

16 Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained the Whatcom County Drug Fund is es-
17 tablished as a special revenue fund, being fund number 165 - 000001, and
18 the 1989 appropriation therefor is approved at $203,081 plus interest and
19 Court Assessments until this Ordinance is in effect, and the budget plan is
20 adopted as follows: ,.

34 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, the Whatcom County Treasurer is authorized
3s to issue a treasurer's check in the amount of $60,000 to establish the
36 Whatcom County Drug Fund Revolving Account to act as a drug investiga-
37 tive, and "buy" fund. The custodian of the account will be the Whatcom
38 County Prosecuting Attorney; moneys shall be withdrawn from this ac-
39 count upon order of the Whatcom County Superior Court.
