5 AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE
6 AUDITOR'S OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
7 FUND FOR IMPROVED DOCUMENT RECORDING SYSTEM
8 AND TO PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATION THEREIN
9 WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature passed into law chapter
10 204, of the Washington Laws of 1989; and
11 WHEREAS, this new law provides for a $2 surcharge on each instrument
12 recorded by the County Auditor; and
13 WHEREAS, this new law mandates establishment of another fund under
14 the Auditor's control for establishment and maintenance of an
15 improved document recording system;
16 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, the Auditor's Operation and
17 Maintenance Fund is.hereby established as fund number 16600, and is
18 to be used to capture the 50% county share of the $2 state mandated
19 surcharge on recordings and any state shared revenues dedicated to
20 the same purpose. All appropriations shall be used only for
21 establishment and maintenance of an improved system for copying,
22 preserving, and indexing documents recorded in the County. The
23 activities of this fund shall be coordinated with the overall plan
24 for microfilming and archival of records for the County at large.
25 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, the 1989 budget plan for the fund is as
26 follows:

1 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, ordinance 88 -96 is hereby amended by adding
2 the Auditor's Operation and Maintenance Fund and 1989 appropriation
3 of $14,000.
