ORDINANCE NO. 89 -58
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 86 -88, AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING WHATCOM COUNTY FERRY RATES.
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council approved an emergency
ordinance eliminating Miscellaneous Provision A of Ordinance No.
86 -88; and
WHEREAS, there has been interest expressed in expanding
the hours of operation of the ferry to include a 6:30 a.m. weekday
run; and
WHEREAS, amendments to the fare structure have been deter-
mined to be necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Ordinance No. 86 -88 is
hereby amended as follows:
CASH FARES - ONE ROUND TRIP:

Trailers & Motorhomes:
Up to 16 ft. long 2.00
1� to 30 ft. long 4.00
Over 30 ft. long 8.00
Trailers shall include, but not be limited to, ball
hitches, military hitches, fifth wheel in bed of pickup,
dump trailers, recreation trailers and mobile homes.
Special Trips: A surcharge in addition to the applicable
fare.
MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS:

of the Whatcom Chief may schedule a three -man crew o
the following holidays or holiday weekends: Victoria
Day, Memorial Day, Canada Day, 4th of July, and
Labor Day. Furthermore, the Master may schedule a
three -man crew other days, subject to the
approval of the Director of Public Works.

i) For a trial ep riod beginning the first Monday after
the effective date of this ordinance, weekdays
through December 3_L 1989, excluding holidays, the
Whatcom Chief may begin operation up to one hour
prior to the regularly scheduled run at 6:50 a.m.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that unless specifically stated
herein, all other terms and conditions of Ordinance No. 86 -88
remain in full force and effect.
