AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 82 -30 AND
86 -31 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING NEW
PRECINCTS BY DIVIDING EXISTING PRECINCTS
LYNDEN CITY NO. 5 AND 6, BELLINGHAM NO. 84 AND
VALLEY
WHEREAS, R.C.W. 29.04.040 (3) allows for a maximum
precinct size of 900 registered voters; and,
WHEREAS, continued and projected growth in the City of
Lynden may push Precincts 5 and 6 to over 900 registered
voters in the near future; and,
WHEREAS, continued• and projected growth in Bellingham
may push Bellingham Precinct No. 84 over 900 registered voters
in the near future; and,
WHEREAS, continued and projected growth in the Valley
Precinct may push it over 900 registered voters in the near
future; and,
WHEREAS, division of the aforementioned precincts
should allow for years of continuous growth and stability
without need for further alteration; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that:
Ordinance No. 82 -30 and 86 -31 be and hereby are amended
so as to divide Lynden Precinct No. 5 into two precincts, and
Lynden Precinct No. 6 into two precincts, resulting in a total
of eight (8) separate Lynden City precincts;
That Bellingham Precinct No
Bellingham Precincts 84 and 54;

That Valley Precinct be divided into Valley East and
Valley West precincts. The boundaries of the above- mentioned
precincts shall be as described in Exhibit "A".

All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of British Columbia Avenue
and South of Front Street
LYNDEN CITY 2
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of 10th Street and South
of Fishtrap Creek and the continuation of Edson Street
and North of Front Street.
LYNDEN CITY 3
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of 7th Street,East of 10th
Street, and South of Fishtrap Creek.
LYNDEN CITY 4
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of 1st Street, East of 7th
Street and South of Main Street.
LYNDEN CITY 5
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of the Northern most portion
of the 14th Street centerline, North of Fishtrap Creek
and the continuation of Edson Street; North of the 1300
and 1400 block of Main Street and West of the B. C.
Avenue, Benson Road centerline.
LYNDEN CITY 6
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, East of the B. C. Avenue and
Benson Road centerline, East of the Northern most portion
of the 14th Street centerline, south of the 1300 and 1400
block of Main Street; North of Main Street and Fishtrap
Creek and West of the extension of 1st Street.
LYNDEN CITY 7
All of the area lying within the corporate boundaries
of the City of Lynden, West of Bender Road, South and
West of the South right -of -way of Garden Drive, South
of the East end of the Grover STreet northern right -of-
way; West of the continuation of Vinup Road, and East
of 1st Street and its continuation.

of the City of Lynden, East of Bender Rd., North and
East of the South right -of -way of Garden Drive and
North of the Northern right -of -way of Grover St. and
East of the continuation of Vinup Rd.
PRECINCT 54
Beginning at the intersection of the Shoreline of Lake
Whatcom and Alabama St., thence South along the Center-
line of Electric Ave. to the South right -of -way of
Kansas St. being the City Limit boundary of the City
of Bellingham, thence East along said City Limits to
the Shoreline of Lake Whatcom; thence North and West
along said Shoreline to the Point of Beginning.
PRECINCT 84
Beginning at the intersection of the Shoreline of Lake
Whatcom and Alabama St., thence West along the center-
line of Alabama St. to its intersection with the center-
line of Birch St., thence South along said centerline of
Birch St. and its continuation to its intersection with
the centerline of Lakeway Dr., thence West along said
centerline to its intersection with the centerline of
Raymond St., thence South along said centerline and
its continuation to the City Limits of Bellingham,
thence East and North and East to the East Shoreline
of Lake Whatcom, thence Northwest across Lake Whatcom
to the Point of Beginning.

approximately 1 1/8 mile to the NW corner of Section 1,
Twp 37N, R 3E; thence South 1 mile, East 1 mile, South 2
miles and East approximately 1 7/8 mile to the intersection
of Lake Whatcom Boulevard and the South line of Section 17,
Twp 37N, R 4E; thence Northerly along the centerline of
Lake Whatcom Boulevard to the point of beginning.
VALLEY EAST
Beginning at the intersection of Lake Whatcom Boulevard and
the North line of Section 6, Twp 37N, R 4E; thence East to
