ORDINANCE NO. 89 -21
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE
WHATCOM COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH FUND,
THE PUBLIC HEALTH OBSTETRIC CARE FUND
AND THE 1989 APPROPRIATIONS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council passed resolution 88 -32 and
ordinance 88 -94, dissolving the Bellingham- whatcom County Health
District and establishing the Whatcom County Health Department,
effective April 1, 1989; and
WHEREAS, section 5.A of ordinance 88 -94 provides for continuation
of the District's 1989 budget and formulae for cost sharing; and
WHEREAS, the County must establish the Public Health Fund and the
associated appropriation prior to April 1st;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, The Whatcom County Public Health Fund
is hereby established as fund number 15300 and the Public Health
Obstetric Care Fund is hereby established as fund number 16400 and
ordinance 88 -96 is amended by adding an appropriation equal to the
originally adopted and amended Bellingham - Whatcom County Health
District total appropriation and the Public Health Obstetric Care
Fund total appropriation effective March 31, 1989, less expenditures
to date.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, The District's detail budget plan in effect
on March 31st and all encumbrances as well as all cash and accounts
receivable shall carry forward to the County Fund. The advance
travel reserve of $500 shall be dissolved upon transfer and the $250
petty cash reserve shall remain in effect. The Public Health
Obstetric Care Fund detail budget plan in effect on March 31st and
all encumbrances as well as all cash and accounts receivable shall
carry forward to the County Fund.
