HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1989-013V 1 2 3 4 5 6 7' 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 19 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Auditor DATE: Febr'uar'y 2, 1989 ORDINANCE NO. 89 -13 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FEES FOR SERVICE FOR PRECINCT ELECTION OFFICERS (POLL WORKERS) WHEREAS, election precinct officers have been receiving $67.00 per election day for serving as an inspector and $52.00 per election day for serving as a judge since June, 1988; and WHEREAS, Revised Code of Washington 29.45.120 allows the county legislative authority to change the fees paid precinct election officers; and, WHEREAS, R.C.W. 49.46.020 provides that inspectors, judges and clerks to receive fees for services not less than the minimum hourly wage; and, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Council establishes the precinct election officers to receive the following fees for service at each election: Judge - State minimum hourly wage for 15 hours rounded to the nearest dollar. Inspector - State minimum hourly wage plus $0.45 per hour for 17 hours rounded to the nearest dollar. Attending Election Classes - Two hours minimum wage. i BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that mileage in excess of one I hundred and fifty miles (150) for a round trip shall be paid at the mileage rate set by state law and county ordinance per mile. - Ordinance - 1. 1 2I 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an election precinct officer who works less than a full election day will receive fees as follows: Inspector - State minimum wage per hour plus $0.45 cents per hour. Judge - State minimum wage per hour. PASSED this 2nd day of March 7 1989.
