HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1989-00211 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15. 16 17' 18 19 20 21 22 23 25 26' 27 28 29 30 31 32 A911ext.88 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: County Executive DATE: 12/15/88 ORDINANCE NO. 89 -2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3.22 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE RELATING TO THE TELEPHONE EXCISE TAX FOR THE 911 WHATCOM COMMUNICATIONS CENTER WHEREAS, the voters in Whatcom County passed Proposition number 1 in the November election relating to the continuation of the excise tax for the 911 emergency service communication system; and WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Code, Section 3.22.030 provides for a six year duration of the tax beginning.on January 1, 1983; and WHEREAS, the voter approval of the continuation requires the County amend the code; NOW,. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, the Whatcom County Code, Section 3.22.030 is hereby amended as follows: 3.22.030 Duration of tax. This tax shall be imposed for -six yens-- eommeaetag-- oa-- 3naanry-- �;- -�9$3- as lonx as the voters continue to approve the tax every six years or for whatever period the legislature requires for voter approval of continuation of the tax. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, all other provisions of Section 3.22.030 of the Whatcom County Code remain in full force and effect. APPROVED this 6th day of January , 1988.
