HomeMy WebLinkAboutord1989-001ACMEEMER.89 INTRODUCED BY: Consent 1 PROPOSED BY: County Executive 2 DATE: 01/05/89 3 4 ORDINANCE NO. 89-1 5 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A FUND AND APPROPRIATION FOR THE IMMINENT 6 THREAT GRANT FROM THE WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 7 8 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Health Department declared an emergency exists in the community of Acme, Washington and Whatcom 9 County has applied for and received an Emergency Imminent Threat Grant from the Washington Department of Community Development to 10 mitigate the effects of the emergency; and 11 WHEREAS, the current and projected obligations will be legitimate claims on the County due in 1989, and the County must establish a 12 fund and appropriation to allow for the receipt and expenditure of the pass- through grant monies; and 13 WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that there is insufficient time to 14 respond to the emergency condition by following the regular ordinance introduction and passage schedule; 15 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, the Whatcom County Imminent Threat 16 Grant Fund is hereby established'as a special revenue fund, being fund number 15200, with the County Executive designated as fund 17 custodian, and the 1989 budget plan is established as follows: 18 Resources: 15200 - 333.92.19 Imminent Threat Grant $137,000 19 Budget Plan: 20 15200 - 594.25.63 Water System Improvements $137,000 21 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, ordinance 88 -96 is hereby amended by establishing the Imminent Threat Fund and providing a $137,000 22 appropriation for the same. 23 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, an emergency does exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and the approval 24 by the Executive; further, the Whatcom County Council finds this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the 25 public peace, health, safety and /or support of the government. 26 APPROVED this 6th day of January , 1989. 27 WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ATTEST: WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 28 29 RAMONA REEVES WILLIAM P.
