Ordinance revising.>:he Current Expense Fund to allow payment to the Humane Society for
.the animal.control licensing program.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Executive office has executed an amendment toihe original - contract with the Humane
Society providing for a return of the license.fees collected for the first year to offset the
extraordinary costs assodiated with the startup of a licensing program. This ordinance
will provide a supplemental appropriation to make payment of the licensing fees to the Humane-
Society for reimbursement of fees.,

ORDINANCE NO. 90 -115
REVISION TO THE 1990
CURRENT EXPENSE FUND, NON- DEPARTMENTAL
APPROPRIATION THEREIN FOR ANIMAL
CONTROL LICENSING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council passed ordinance 90 -53 requiring
licensing of dogs in the unincorporated area of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Office has executed an amendment to the original
contract with the Humane Society, providing for a return of the license fees
collected for the first year to offset the extraordinany costs associated with
start up of a licensing program; and
WHEREAS, this reimbursement of licensing fees requires a supplemental
appropriation to make payment to the Humane Society;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED the Whatcom County Council hereby revises
the 1990 Current Expense Fund, Non - Departmental budget plan therein for animal
control services as follows:
RESOURCES:
00120 - 322.30.00.0000 Animal Licenses $11,000
BUDGET PLAN REVISION(S):
00430 - 539.30.41.0100 License Program
$11,000
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that ordinance 89 -105 is hereby amended by adding
$11,000 to the 1990 Current Expense Fund, Non - Departmental appropriation for
Animal Control Services.
