SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The amount`of the-Tort Fund need to be increased due to.liability settlements which were
made during the year and an insurance pool premium which exceeded the projection. These
expenses have caused the fund to be lower than is desirable and this ordinance will bring
the balance up to a more realistic level.

REVISION TO THE 1990 TORT
CLAIMS FUND APPROPRIATION
FOR MINOR SETTLEMENTS
WHEREAS, there have been a number of liability settlements during the year
that in total exceed the amount appropriated for the same purpose; and
WHEREAS, the insurance pool premium for 1990 exceeded the projection for
the same; and
WHEREAS, the fund must finance all liabilities that are the self insured
retention of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED the Whatcom County Council hereby revises
the 1990 Tort Claims Fund budget plan as follows:
RESOURCES:
13600 - 291.80.00.0000 Estimated Ending Fund Balance $50,000
BUDGET PLAN REVISION(S):
13600 - 514.78.46.0200 Settlements /minor $50,000
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that ordinance 89 -105 is hereby amended by adding
$50,000 to the Tort Claims Fund appropriation.
