SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The Engineering Division has experienced tremendous growth due to the surge in development
in the County, and new's.taff positions are needed to meet that demand. New monies which
will be received from the state as a result 'of a new gas tax bill will help fund-these
increases, and help pay for additional work on the roads.

AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE 1990
ROAD FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS, . the Engineering Division has an immediate need for three
additional staff positions to address the surge development activity, and
WHEREAS, the passage of the new gas tax bill (ESSB 6358) has created
a County Arterial Preservation Account (CAPA) which will result in Whatcom County
receiving approximately $250,000 to be used for County arterial preservation, and
WHEREAS, projected Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax Revenues exceed our 1990
budget,
NOW, THEREFOR90 BE IT ORD, M, D that the 1990 Rand Fund Budget
is hereby revised as follows:
