SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The state legislature enacted a bill which provides new grant monies to
the county to.begin a program for evaluation of first time juvenile sex
offenders. This ordinance allows for the additional funding authority
in Current-Expense, and revises the budget plan to pay for the educational
specialist in.juvenile'detention.

REVISION TO THE 1990 CURRENT
EXPENSE FUND, JUVENILE ADMINISTRATION
APPROPRIATION THEREIN FOR ADDITIONAL
STATE GRANT FUNDING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Washington. State Legislature enacted Subsitute Senate Bill
6259, effective July 1st, 1990; and
WHEREAS, this law provides grant monies to begin the so called "SSODA"
program for evaluation of first time juvenile sex offenders; and
WHEREAS, the contract with the Juvenile Probation Department Education
Specialist has been signed, which requires a budget amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED the Whatcom County Council hereby revises
the 1990 Current Expense Fund, Juvenile Administration budget plan therein as
follows:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that ordinance 89 -105 is hereby amended by adding
$11,823 in appropriation authority to the 1990 Current Expense Fund, Juvenile
Administration budget therein.
