SUMMARY STATEMENT•
By law, foreclosure action for R.I.D.'s must begin on or before March 1st
of each year. The Treasurer was unable to commence action by that date
so is requesting that the date be extended to June 15, 1990.

5 Extension for Commencement of Foreclosure Action
6 WHEREAS, RCW 35.50.030 provides that ULID foreclosure actions must
7 be commenced on or before March let of any given year that two installments
6 of any local improvement assessment become delinquent or if the final
9 installment thereof has been delinquent for more than one year, unless said
10 date is fixed by local ordinance; the Whatcom County Treasurer desires to
11 fix said date for 1990 as June 15th because the Whatcom County Treasurer
12 was unable to mail the 30 day delinquency notices within a sufficient time
13 to allow for the timely filing of foreclosure actions in Whatcom County
14 Superior Court against properties having said delinquent Road Improvement
15 District Assessments;
16 HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council: The
17 County may file Road Improvement District Assessment foreclosure actions
16 on or before June 15th of 1990 where two or more installments of any local
19 improvement assessment are delinquent, or the final installment thereof has
20 been delinquent for more than one year.
