SUMMARY STATEMENT•
This proposed Ordinance renames the Juvenile Facility Reserve Fund to the
Courthouse Expansion Construction Fund and changes the purpose to include
construction of Courthouse addition and remodel of existing space. The
Fund's management moves from the Executive office to the Public Works
Department.

ORDINANCE NO. 90-31
REVISION OF NAME AND PURPOSE
OF JUVENILE FACILITY RESERVE FUND
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Facility Reserve Fund was established by ordinance
85 -92; and
WHEREAS, the fund's purpose will now change from accumulating reserve
resources for the Juvenile detention facility to constructing the Courthouse
addition that will include the detention facility and other administrative
activities;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED the Whatcom County Council hereby repeals
ordinance 85 -92, and renames the existing Juvenile Facility Reserve Fund, number
32700, as the Courthouse Expansion Construction Fund. This fund may accumulate
interim and permanent financing for eventual appropriation and expenditure of
monies to build the currently planned four -story Courthouse addition and any
necessary remodeling of the existing Courthouse. This fund will be placed under
the management and supervision of the Public Works Director.
