REVISION TO THE AMOUNT
AUTHORIZED FOR THE PURCHASING
DEPARTMENT PETTY CASH ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the County Purchasing Department's petty cash account was
established in 1973 at $150 for mailing costs; and
WHEREAS, Purchasing must now make shipments through other delivery
services which require cash on hand; and
WHEREAS, Purchasing would like an amount available for small items
purchased from vendors which do not accept purchase orders; and
WHEREAS, the amount necessary for shipping costs is increasing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council
that the petty cash account for the County Purchasing Department is hereby
authorized at $500, to be used for both shipping costs and purchase of small items
from vendors not accepting purchase orders. The Whatcom County Treasurer shall
issue a treasurer's check to allow the authorized amount.
ADOPTED this 13th day of March , 1990.
