SUMMARY STATEMENT: State law allows counties a variety of options in disposing of tax -title property. Currently WCC 1.10.300 does not include the full -range of options available to the County. The proposed amend- ment would enable the County to exercise the full range of options which state law provides. ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION: Recommend Approval. Consent PROPOSED BY: Property Management Committee INTRODUCTION DATE: 11/23/93 ORDINANCE NO. 93-087 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE SALE OF TAX -TITLE PROPERTY BY WHATCOM COUNTY IN ACCORD WITH THE .PROVISIONS CURRENTLY CONTAINED IN STATE. LAW. WHEREAS, the sale of tax -title property held by Whatcom County is currently governed by Whatcom County Code 1.10.300, RCW 84.64.270, and RCW 36.35; 1 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64.320 also contains provisions pertinent to the manner of selling such tax -title property, and a recent amendment of that code section expanded the range of options available to the county in such situations. WHEREAS, it is deemed to be advantageous to the County to have the flexibility to dispose of property under the various conditions which are described in the newly amended RCW 84.64.320; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Whatcom County Code 1.10.300 shall be amended as follows: Disposition of the county tax title property shall be made pursuant to the powers, procedures, and notice requirements contained. in RCW 84.64.270, RCW 84.64.320, and RCW 36.35.
