YES NO Please explain below Budget line item number(s): An Engineering study has been conducted and it was determined that due to structural deficiencies, a weight limit of 40 -tons maximum should be placed on the bridge, with weight limit warning.signs placed on the Coal Creek Road at Mt. Baker Hwy. and at the bridge located 5.85 miles south of Mt. Baker Hwy. to detour truck traffic weighing over 40 -tons. Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item only).ord 93 -086 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 SPONSORED BY Consent PROPOSED BY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT INTRODUCTION DATE 11/23/93 ORDINANCE NO. 93 -086 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE MATTER OF PLACING A WEIGHT LIMIT ON COAL CREEK ROAD BRIDGE NO. 511 10 WHEREAS, IN COMPLIANCE WITH WCC 12.06.010 AND 12.06.060, it is found 11 necessary and expedient to place a weight limit on Coal Creek Bridge No. 511, over 12 Deep Creek; and 13 14 WHEREAS, an Engineering study has been conducted by the County Engineer's office 15 and such study has determined that it is necessary to place a 40 -ton maximum weight 16 limit on this bridge due to structural deficiencies found during the study; and 17 18 WHEREAS, weight limit warning signs should be placed on roads leading to the bridge 19 to alert trucks weighing over 40 -tons of the weight limit. 20 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that a 40 -ton weight limit be placed on Coal 22 Creek Road Bridge No. 511 over Deep Creek, and also place weight limit warning signs 23 on Coal Creek Road at Mt. Baker Highway and at the bridge located 5.85 miles south 'Z.4 of Mt. Baker Highway to detour truck traffic weighing over 40 -tons. Such controls shall 5 remain in effect until such time as Bridge No. 511 is replaced and found to be 26 structurally sound. 27 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is 29 hereby directed to post and maintain appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County 30 Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance. 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 ADOPTED this 7th day of December , 1993.
