The need to repeal this section became apparent while researching the ordinance further eliminating out -of -date
references to "county commissioners" in the. newly-republished Whatcom County Code (see AB93- 247A). Civil
Deputy Prosecutor Dan Gibson noted that this section is not used or enforced by the County; therefore it would
' , good - policy to eliminate it from the Code.

ORDINANCE NO. 93 -067
AMENDING THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE TO REPEAL
CHAPTER 5.56, TEENAGE DANCES
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Code Chapter 5.56 contains requiring formation of
a teenage dance board and a permitting process for such dances; and
WHEREAS, this section of law was carried over from the prior form of County
government, based on legislation enacted in 1964; and
WHEREAS, the teenage dance board is not in existence, nor does the County
engage in the permitting of teenage dances; and
WHEREAS, it is good policy for the Council to eliminate sections of the Code
that are no longer relevant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
Chapter 5.56 of the Whatcom County Code is hereby repealed in its entirety.
ADOPTED this 12th day of October 1993.
