Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 11 modifies the 1993 budget in the following manner:
1) The ordinance appropriates Current Expense Fund balance to provide for the approved lease
agreement for a county morgue facility.
2) The ordinance appropriates Current Expense Fund balance to provide for the disposition of indigent
persons who die within Whatcom County.
3) The ordinance appropriates new grant revenue in the Planning Department for the Aquatic Resource
Management project.
4) The ordinance appropriates grant money and Combined Treatment Services Fund balance for the new
Children's Area Resource Coordinator position.
Note: The Whatcom County Council, at their May 11, 1993 meeting, passed a motion to support the
addition of a new Children's Area Resource Coordinator position in the Department of Combined
Treatment Services. The request for authorization to add a new position was submitted prior to the
supplemental so that the hiring process could be expedited.
5) The ordinance appropriates Election Reserve fund balance and reduces extra help to provide for two
additional (FTE) Clerk positions in the Election division of the Auditor's department.
6) The ordinance appropriates Road Fund real and personal property tax revenue to provide for the
diversion of property tax for traffic policing needs in the Sheriffs department.

ORDINANCE NO. 93-052
AMENDMENT NO. 11 TO THE 1993 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 1993 budget was approved November, 1992; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 1993
budget; and,
WHEREAS, those modifications have been assembled here for deliberation by
the Whatcom County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
the 1993 Whatcom County budget ordinance 92 -89 is hereby amended by adding the
following amounts to the departments included therein:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that ordinance 92 -89, exhibit C, is amended to
reflect the additional authorized positions in the Auditor's Department and in the
Combined Treatment Services Department.
