The County Code is being re- published. In order for it to be completely up -to -date and accurate, Section 2.52
*.he County Code should be repealed. The section refers to a Multipurpose Community Center, which is the
. .latcom Museum. The Museum is now a City of Bellingham department, so the joint board of the
Multipurpose Community Center is no longer functioning, according to the County Executive.

2 REPEALING SECTION 2.52 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE,
3 REGARDING THE MULTIPURPOSE COMMUNITY CENTER

5 WHEREAS, in the course of updating references to "county commissioners" in the
6 Whatcom County Code, amendments were proposed to Section 2.52, relating to a
7 Multipurpose Community Center; and
8
9 WHEREAS, the County Executive has noted that several years ago Bellingham
10 changed its code to make the Bellingham - Whatcom County Museum a city department
11 run exclusively by Bellingham, so the joint board of the Multipurpose Community Center
12 is no longer functioning; and

WHEREAS, under the circumstances section 2.52 of the Code should be
repealed; and
WHEREAS, repealing the section at this time will help the soon -to -be published
County Code to be as up -to -date and accurate as possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
Whatcom County Code Section 2.52, Multipurpose Community Center, is hereby
repealed.
