The County Code is being re- published. In order for it to be completely up -to -date and accurate, Section 2.34
ie County Code should be repealed. The section refers to a Community Recreation Commission, which,
to the best of the County Executive's knowledge, has not been active since 1978.

1 ORDINANCE NO. 93 -049
2 REPEALING SECTION 2.34 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE,
3 REGARDING THE COMMUNITY RECREATION COMMISSION

5 WHEREAS, in the course of updating references to "county commissioners" in the
6 Whatcom County Code, amendments were proposed to Section 2.34, relating to a
7 Community Recreation Commission; and
8
9 WHEREAS, the County Executive has noted that since 1978 there appears to
10 have been no activity of a Community Recreation Commission, and it may in fact not
11 exist; and
12
13 WHEREAS, under the circumstances section 2.34 of the Code should be
14 repealed; and
15
16 WHEREAS, repealing the section at this time will help the soon -to -be published
17 County Code to be as up -to -date and accurate as possible;

9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
_J Whatcom County Code Section 2.34, Community Recreation Commission, is hereby
21 repealed.
