ORDINANCE NO. 93 -012
SETTING FILING FEES FOR SURVEY RECORDING ACT AND AMENDING
COUNTY CODE SECTION 3.50.010
WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington authorizes the Board- of County
Commissioners ( Whatcom County Council) to fix the charges for filing and recording of
survey and /or recording of land corner information, and;
WHEREAS, the Washington State Association of County Auditors has suggested to
all counties a fee schedule, which schedule recognizes the costs expended by Auditors in the
recording of surveys or land corner information and;
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Auditor has reviewed the above suggested fee
schedule, finds it to be fair and reasonable and that it will help to cover actual costs of
recording, and accordingly recommends that the Council accept and fix the fees as suggested
by the Washington State Association of County Auditors;
NOW- THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
Council hereby adopts the following fees for recording a public record as prescribed by
chapter 58.09 Revised Code of Washington as follows:
A. Record of Survey. The size of the record of land surveys shall be 18 (eighteen)
by 24 (twenty -four) inches and the fee schedule for filing shall be as follows:
1. Basic fee first page $25.00
2. DNR fees 26.00*
3. Centennial Preservation fee 2.00*
4. Each additional page 5.00
* Note These fees are not set by the Whatcom County Council. If
the entities which establish these fees increase or decrease their fees,
the total fee collected by the Auditor's office shall automatically, upon
the effective date of such change, be adjusted.

B. Copies of Record of Survey. Copies of the record of survey shall be provided
on request according to the following fee schedule:
1. Basic fee first page
2. Each additional page

C. Record of Monument. Whatcom County Code Chapter 3.50.010 is hereby
amended to provide the record of Monument shall be filed without charge on the standard
form prescribed by the department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Surveys and Maps.
D.. Copies of Record of Monuments. Copies of the Record of Monument shall be
provided on request according to the following fee schedule:
1993.
1. Basic fee per sheet
$ 2.00
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this fee schedule shall become effective April '1,
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of March . , 1993.
