.ttached you will find a proposed ordinance amending Whatcom County Ordinance #84 -14. The purpose of
the proposed amendment is to provide sufficient funds in the revolving checking account for the industrial
insurance fund to meet monthly financial obligations.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING A REVOLVING CHECKING ACCOUNT
FOR THE INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE FUND
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 84-14: titled AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A
REVOLVING CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THE INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE FUND
set a limit of $20,000 on the Industrial .Insurance Fund Revolving Checking Account, and
WHEREAS, it has become apparent that increases have occurred in the following categories:
medical vendor claims, permanent partial disability awards and number of employees receiving
time loss payments. Therefore, $20,000 is not a sufficient amount to maintain the account
for a full month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT ORDINANCE No. 84 -14 TITLED AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A REVOLVING CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THE
INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE FUND be, and hereby is amended to raise the limit of the
checking account to $50,000;
Be it further ordained that the County Treasurer shall issue a check in the amount of $30,000
from the Self- Insurance/Employee Benefit Fund 14400 to supplement the revolving checking
account for the Industrial Insurance Fund.
