RESOLUTION NO. 79-47
A RESOLUTION IN THE MliTTER OF CHANGING THE NANF
AND THE NAME OF THE BUDGET OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY
MENTAL RETARDATION DEPARTMENT TO THE TATHATCOM COUTNTY
DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
TAIEREAS, the Whatcom County Mental. Retardation Depart -
ment and the Budget Fund for said department has heretofore been
established; and
WHEREAS, the State has mandated that the use of the
words "Mental Retardation" be discontinued; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to rename the Mental Retardation
Department and the Budget Fund for the Mental Retardation Depart-
ment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Council
hereby changes the name of the Mental Retardation Department and
the Budget for that Department to the Whatcom County Department
of Developmental Disabilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mental Retardation
Board shall be from here on be referred to as the Whatcon County
Board for Developmental Disabilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other Resolutions,
Ordinances, and /or other references to the Mental Retardation
Department and the Mental Retardation Board shall hereinafter be
(Resolution - 1.
