RESOLUTION NO. 79 -27
A RESOLUTION REGARDING ENERGY POLICY
FOR WHATC014 COUNTY TO PROMOTE ENERGY
CONSERVATION METHODS, ALTERNATIVE
ENERGY APPLICATIONS,AND UTILIZATION
OF RENEWABLE RESOURCES
WHEREAS, Whatcom County and the nation face
diminishing supplies of non - renewable resources,
and;
WHEREAS, energy awareness encourages efficient
energy utilization, and;
WHEREAS, increased energy efficiency will serve
to maintain and protect the physical environment
and the qulaity of life in Whatcom County, and;
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council deems it
necessary to adopt policies to promote the
efficient use of all energy sources and to
encourage the use of renewable and sustainable
energy sources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Efficient, economical energy utilization shall be
1considered in all legislation, particularly legislation concerning
gland use planning, purchasing and county building codes.
SECTION 2.
Efficient, economical energy utilization shall be a
(priority in general administrative procedures and in maintenance
land operation of Whatcom County's buildings, equipment and facilitids.
