7 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INTERLOCAL
COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN WHATCOM
8 COUNTY AND THE CITY OF BLAINE.AND
AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO
9 SIGN THIS AGREEMENT.

11 WHEREAS, the City of Blaine with the cooperation of
12 Whatcom County are seeking certain funds available through the
13 Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant
14 Small Cities program in order to elevate shortage of low cost
15 housing and rehabilitate and improve existing housing; and
16
i7 WHEREAS, one of the first steps in the application
18 process is the execution of an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement
19 between Whatcom County and the City of Blaine; and
20
21 WHEREAS, R.C.W. 39.34.080 requires that the Inter -
22 local Agreement be authorized by the governing body of the local
23 government prior to execution;

25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That:

27 The County Council authorizes and approves the
28 Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Whatcom County and the
29 City of Blaine concerning H.U.D. Block Grant and authorizes the
30 County Executive to sign the Agreement.
