A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE HANDLING
OF LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATIONS WITHIN
WHATCOM COUNTY
yIIIEREAS, it is the duty of the Administrative Department of
the County to process and approve or deny applications for liquor
licenses within the County boundaries but outside of the city, and
WHEREAS, there is a time factor involved. of twenty days in
which to process applications and report to Olympia with the result!
NOW, THERI?FORE, BE IT RESOLVEE the County Executive having
received the comments and recommendations of the Sheriff, Health,
Building and Code and possibly Engineering Departments will process
and-approve or deny all applications which deal with changes in
name, ownership, or renew &l of liquor licenses and special event
liquor licenses, except upon request of Council the Council may
review application for special events and those special event
applicants being denied license, have the right of appeal to
Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the County Executive shall consult the
County Council on all applications which are seeking a new license
from the State Liquor Control Board.
PASSED this 9th day of August, 1979.
