RESOLUTION NO. 79-18
A RESOLUTION regarding authorization of the County
Executive to sign agreements and /or payment requests
for EPA /DOE grants to eliminate improper waste treat-
ment in the area of the Nor -Bell Nursing Home.
WHEREAS, Whatcom County is in receipt of Department of Ecology order
No. 77 -857 and amendment, ordering the County to submit a facility
plan to the Department of Ecology for review and approval, and;
WHEREAS, the County has submitted an application for funding under
the Environmental Protection Agency's program, Construction Grants
for Wastewater Treatment Works, and;
WHEREAS, the purpose of the program is to eliminate a treatment fa- .
cility which is discharging improperly treated sewage, and to investi-
gate transmission of sewage from the Nor -Bell area to Ferndale, and
to investigate all alternatives, and;
WHEREAS, funding has been granted and contracts prepared for signing
by the agencies and the County;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
The Whatcom County Council hereby authorizes the County Executive or his
official designee as the official representative of Whatcom County, to sign
all agreements and /or payment requests for EPA /DOE grants to eliminate improper
waste treatment in the area of the Nor -Bell Nursing Home.
