RESOLUTION NO. 79 -13
RESOLU:!'ION RECEIVING PETITION FOR FORMATION
OF BLAINE AREA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT;
FIXING A DAY AND HOUR WHEN THE COUNCIL WILL
PUBLICLY HEAR SAID PETITION; DIRECTING
PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF HEARING; FIX
BOUNDARIES, DESIGNATE A NAME, CALL ELECTION
UN THE PROPOSITION TO FORM THE DISTRICT AND
THE ELECTION OF FIVE DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the County
Auditor, accompanied by an obligation signed by two or
more petitioners agreeing to pay the cost of publication
of notice required under R.C.W. 36.69.040; and,
WHEREAS, the Auditor has certified to the sufficiency
of the signatures of qualified persons and has transmitted
to the Council said petition with her certificate of
sufficiency; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Blaine
has approved inclusion of Blaine City within the
confines of said proposed district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
That the Whatcom County Council receive such petition,
obligation, and certificate of sufficiency, and fix Thursday!
the �l9th� day of Ju.l , 1979, in the Council
Chambers on the second floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse,
as the time and place when the petition will be publicly heard
by the Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the clerk give notice of
said hearing by publication three times, at intervals of not
less than one week, in a newspaper of general. circulation within
the county stating the time and place of hearing and describe
particularly the area proposed to be included within the district.
FINALLY, IT IS RESOLVED, that after hearing, the council
designate a name for and fix the boundaries of said proposed
district, divide same into five subdivisions, name five resident
