RESOLUTION NO. 79 -8
A RESOLUTION APPORTIONING DISTRIBUTION OF
PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT PRIVILEGE TAX REVENUES
WHEREAS, Revised Code of Washington Section
54.28.090 provides that the county commissioners
direct the county treasurer to deposit Public
Utility District privilege tax funds to the credit
of taxing districts in the county in the
manner they deem most equitable; and,
WHEREAS, the statute requires that not less
than thirty -five percent of all moneys so
received shall be apportioned to the school
districts in the county having PUD properties
within their limits; and,
WHEREAS, the statute further provides that not
less than an amount equal to three - fourths of one
percent of the gross revenues obtained by a district
from the sale of electric energy within any
incorporated city or town be remitted to such city
or town; and,
WHEREAS, no electric energy is sold by the PUD within
any incorporated city or town located in Whatcom
County.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Public Utility
District privilege tax of $10,011.14 received in June, 1979,
is apportioned in the following manner which the County Council
deems most equitable:
