HomeMy WebLinkAboutres1980-0521 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 ! 28 29 30 31 32 DATE: September 4, 1980 INTRODUCED BY: Roehl PROPOSED BY: Grants Mangeme.nt RESOLUTION NO. 80 -52 A RESOLUTION REGARDING WHATCOM COUNTY SPONSORSHIP OF A PROJECT PROPOSED BY WHATCOM ASSOCIATION OF TRAINING CENTERS TO USE STATE REFERENDUM 37 FUNDS TO REMODEL A BUILDING IN LYNDEN WHEREAS, Washington State has made $617,100 in Referendum 37 funds available to be spent in Whatcom County to be used for land acquisition, construction or renovation of buildings, or purchase of equipment for the care, training and rehabilitation of persons with sensory, physical or mental handicaps; and WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Referendum 37 Citizens Advisory Committee has screened this project proposal and the County Executive has included it in his priority recommendations to the State; and WHEREAS, in order to be eligible for Referendum 37 funds, a project must be sponsored by a public body such as the County; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: Whatcom County agrees to act as official sponsor of the Referendum 37 project to remodel a building.in Lynden as described in the Whatcom Association of Training Centers proposal dated June 23, 1980, as submitted to the County Grants.Office; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: Whatcom County agrees to accept the rights and responsibilities of the public body sponsor as described in Chapter 275 -150 WAC, pursuant to the provisions of S.H.B. 740 and H.B. 1483. PASSED this 4th day of SF?temhpr , 1980.
