RESOLUTION NO. 80 -21.
A RESOLUTION regarding authorization and filing
of the Whatcom County Application for the H.U.D.
Small Cities Block Grant Program:
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has submitted a preapplication for the
Housing and Urban Development Small Cities Block Grant Program,
and has been invited to submit a. final application, and;
WHEREAS, the purposes of this grant are to provide for the City
of Blaine a housing rehabilitation program which makes available
low- interest loans and /or grants to low- and moderate- income
families, housing project site acquisition, and LID assessments
for lower income households for street improvements, and;
WHEREAS, citizens have had the opportunity to express their views
on community development and housing needs in public hearings, and;
WHEREAS, Whatcom County will file the application on behalf of the
City of Blaine;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Whatcom County Council hereby authorizes the filing of
the application to the Housing and Urban Development Small. Cities Block Grant
Program on behalf of the City of Blaine;
Section 2. The Council adopts and intends to comply with all assurances
contained in the application;
Section 3. The County Executive, John Louws, or his official designee is
the official representative of Whatcom County and is authorized to act on
behalf of the applicant Whatcom County.
