A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHING
7. TERMS OF OFFICE ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
AS APPOINTED BY WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL.

10. PREAMBLE:
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the County
12 Council as the Legislative Authority to make appointments to
certain boards and commissions; and

14 WHEREAS,.the Whatcom County Charter Section 3.23
requires terms of office of board or commission members to be no
15 longer than four (4) years;

17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
19. Section 1: That the term of office for the Board
20,: of Equalization shal34 be three (3) years pursuant to R.C.W. 84.
21. 48.026. All other appointments to boards and commissions of non-
22. Council members made by the Council shall be for a term.of four
23 (4) years, except for those appointments made to fill an incom-
24 plete terms in which case it shall be for the balance of that
25_ term.

27 —Section 2:' That no member shall serve more than
28 two (2) consecutive full terms.

so Section 3: That those positions to which the
31 Whatcom County Council appoints the Executive to serve shall be
32 his/her term of office.
