RESOLUTION NO. 82 -4�
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
EXEMPTION OF COUNTY PARK PROPERTY
LOCATED AT BLAINE AIR FORCE BASE
FROM THE COUNTY ZONING CODE
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Park and Recreation Board
has acquired a portion of the former Blaine Air Force Station from
the federal government; and,
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Board desire to develop
said property for park and recreational purposes; and,
WHEREAS, Section 2.24.700 of the Whatcom County Interim
Zoning Ordinance permits County projects in all zones upon a. finding
by the County Council that the project is consistent with the
Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the project proposed by the County Park and
Recreation Board at the former Blaine Air Force Station is consiste t
with the Comprehensive Plan; and,
2. The project, as outlined in correspondence from the
Board dated June 16, 1982, a copy of which is attached hereto, shall
be permitted and shall be considered exempt from the provisions of
the County Zoning Ordinance.
