RESOLUTION NO. 83 -63
A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT CONTINUATION OF ORDINANCE
NO. 82 -68 AS AMENDED BY ORDIANCE NO. 83 -20, IS
NECESSARY FOR THE OPERATION OF NECESSARY COUNTY
GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES IN 1984
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8268 imposes a sales and use tax,
pursuant to R.C.W. 82.14.030(2); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 82 -68 was amended by Ordinance
No. 83 -20 to provide that the tax shall "expire on
December 31, of each year, unless the Council shall by
separate resolution adopted during the month of November
each year, find that continuation of this ordinance and
the tax levied hereunder is essential for the operation
of necessary County governmental services "; and
WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the County Executive's
proposed 1984 budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council,
that continuation of Ordinance No. 82 -68 (as amended by Ordinance
No. 83 -20) and the tax levied thereunder is essential for the oper-
ation of necessary County governmental services and shall remain
in effect.
