RESOLUTION NO. 83 -51
A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF
WHATCOM COUNTY WATER DISTRICT NO
8 TO BIRCH BAY WATER DISTRICT NO. .
8
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Water District No. 8 serves the
Birch Bay area; and,
WHEREAS, in the past confusion has occurred with regard
to the name of the water district; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Water District No.
8 have passed a resolution (Resolution No. 394) requesting approval
of a change of name for the District; and,
WHEREAS, changing the name of the District to Birch Bay
Water District No. 8 will more closely reflect the service offered
by the District and the service area of the District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County
Council does hereby approve the change of the name of Whatcom
County Water District No. 8 to "Birch Bay Water District No. 8 ";
provided, that all existing obligations and contracts of the
District entered into under its former name shall remain outstandin(
without change and with the validity thereof unimpaired and un-
affected by such change of name.
