A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF SETTING THE TERM
OF OFFICE OF THE MEMBER OF THE BELLINGHAM
WHATCOM COUNTY HEALTH DISTRICT BOARD WHO REPRE-
SENTS THE UNINCORPORATED RURAL AREA OF WHATCOM
COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Health District was formed on
December 16, 1947, and
WHEREAS, the Health District was reorganized by action of
the Whatcom County Board of Commissioner's on July 27, 1969,
and
WHEREAS, the establishment of an additional member to the
Health Board from the unincorporated rural area of the County
was done by resolution of the County Commissioner's dated
November 24, 1969, and
WHEREAS, the confirmed creation of the District Board of
Health was done by Whatcom County Council Resolution No.
79 -4, dated May 10, 1979, and
WHEREAS, the position of representative of the unincorporated
rural area of Whatcom County was filled by County Council
appointment on August 16, 1979, for an unspecified term, and
WHEREAS, the County Council approved Resolution No..80 -13,
which establishes terms of office to be four (4) years on
boards and commissions, unless otherwise specified, and
WHEREAS,,. County Council Resolution No. 80 -43 further states
that this term of office shall apply to all appointments
made by the County Council since May 1, 1979, and
WHEREAS, Nelda Sigurdson was appointed to fill out the un-
expired term of Alex Gitts on October 21, 1983, which term
expired August, 1983,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council
does hereby appoint Mr. Fred Wendover to the Bellingham /Whatcom
County Health District Board for the remainder of 1983, and for a
full four (4) year term starting January 1, 1984.
