RESOLUTION NO. 83 -31
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF SETTING A DATE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE.ABANDONMENT AND
DISSOLUTION OF SEI -TER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1
PURSUANT TO R.C.W. 85.08.540.
WHEREAS, the County Council has received a petition for the abandonment
of Whatcom County Sewer Improvement District No. 1, a sewer improvement district
established for the purpose of providing sewer service to the residents residing
in the Birchwood area of Whatcom County, an area abutting the city limits of the
City of Bellingham; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bellingham has agreed to provide direct .service to
said area; and
WHEREAS, the most appropriate and efficient method of implementing the
direct service is by means of abandonment of Sewer Improvement District No. l;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Whatcom County,
lWashington, that a public hearing on the matter of abandonment and dissolution of
Sewer Improvement District No. 1 shall be held on the lst day of September, 1983
at 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it is possible in the Whatcom County Council
Chambers, second floor, ? dhatcom County Courthouse, Bellingham, Washington, for
the purpose of admitting testimony for and against the dissolution of the district.
