RESOLUTION NO. 83 -26
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF /
SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SERVICE
IN WHATCOM COUNTY
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has been in the process of selecting
a contractor to dispose of solid waste within Whatcom County; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommended that Thermal
Reduction Corp. (TRC) be awarded the contract for such services;
and,
WHEREAS, the County Council gave conceptual approval to the
TRC proposal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and declared by the Whatcom
County Council as follows:
(1) That Council's action in giving conceptual approval to t
TRC proposal be and hereby is rescinded;
(2) That the Council fully supports and endorses the action
of the County Executive in calling for an open, competitive
bidding procedure in.selecting a solid waste contractor for the
County;
(3) That Council urges all parties, join together in
seeking selection of the best qualified contractor through the
open competitive bidding process.
