RESOLUTION NO. 83 -6
A RESOLUTION OF INTENT IN THE MATTER OF VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF COUNTY ROAD NO.
223
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council at its meeting of
January 20, 1983 received correspondence from Richard Baum, attorney
for the Nooksack Indian Tribe, requesting the County to vacate
and abandon a forty (40) foot road right -of -way, which borders
the Mission Road just north of the Pole Road and south of Strandell
described as follows:
All of that portion of County Road No. 223, lying
within Government Lot 12, in Section 6, Township 39
North, Range 4 East of W.M.
and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council passed a motion to
schedule a public hearing at its meeting of January 20, 1983, and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Whatcom County Council to
vacate and abandon the above mentioned road right -of -way and by
its motion on January 20, 1983 set a public hearing regarding this
matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council
has scheduled for public hearing the matter of vacation and abandon-
ment of a portion of County Road No. 223, described as follows:
All of that portion of County Road No. 223, lying
within Government Lot 12, in Section 6, Township 39
North, 1�ange 4 East of W.M.
Said hearing to be held on Thursday, March 3, 1983 at 7:30 p.m.,
or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Council Chambers, second
floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingha
Washington.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall made a
report of this portion of road and shall file the same with the
Council and proceedings for vacation and abandonment of this por-
tion of County road right -of -way shall then be. carried -on in the
manner provided in Revised Code of Washington 36.87.010 through
36.87.080.
