RESOLUTION NO. 84 -4
A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF WHATCOM COUNTY
WATER DISTRICT NO. 14 TO GLACIER WATER DISTRICT
NO. 14
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Water District No. 14 serves the
Glacier area; and,
WHEREAS, in the past confusion has occurred with regard
to the name of the water district; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 14
have passed a resolution (Resolution No. 94) requesting
approval of a change of name for the District; and.,
WHEREAS, changing the name of the District to Glacier
Water District No. 14 will more closely reflect the
service offered by the District and the service area
of the District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council
does hereby approve the change of the name of Whatcom Water District
No. 14 to "Glacier Water District No. 14 "; provided, that all
existing obligations and contracts of the District entered into
under its former name shall remain outstanding without change and
with the validity thereof unimpaired and unaffected by such change
lof name.

Enclosed you will find a certified copy of a Resolution of the
Board of Commissioners of Whatcom County Water District No. 14 in
which they indicate their desire to change the name of their water
district to Glacier Water District No. 14 for the reason that they
are located in the Glacier Area arid" the name is more descriptive
of the services which they render. I anticipate that this should be
handled in the same manner as the recent change of name from Whatcom
County Water District No.--B"Ito Birch Bay Water District No. -�9�

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF WHATCOM COUNTY WATER DISTRICT NO. 14
CHANGING THE NAME OF WHATCOM COUNTY WATER
DISTRICT NO. 14 TO GLACIER WATER DISTRICT NO. 14
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Water District No. 14 serves the Glacier
area; and
WHEREAS, there has in the past been a great deal of confusion over
what the name of the water district is which serves the Glacier area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF WHATCOM
COUNTY WATER DISTRICT NO. 14, as follows:
Section 1: The Board of Commissioners of Whatcom County Water District
No. 14 hereby declare their intention, subject to the approval of the
Whatcom County Council and Executive, to change the name of the district
to Glacier Water District No. 14 for the reason that the name Glacier
Water District No. 14 will more closely reflect the service offered by
the district and the service area of the district.
Section 2: This resolution shall be effective upon its approval by the
Whatcom County Council and Executive.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 63 & day of 1983.
