RESOLUTION NO. 84 -2
A RESOLUTION OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL
CLARIFYING THE INTENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 83 -31
PENDING FORMAL AMENDMENT THEREOF
WHEREAS, the intent of Ordinance 83 -31 was to facilitate
provision of temporary residential care to disabled persons
without requiring their untimely institutionalization or unnecessar
devisions of real property; and
WHEREAS, this intent encompasses providing relief to disabled
resident property owners as well as to disabled persons who seek
to reside on the property of other family members;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intent of the
Whatcom County Council that Ordinance 83 -31 shall be interpreted
pending formal amendment in a manner which allows relief to
disabled resident property owners seeking to place temporary
dwellings on their own residential properties for the purpose of
housing persons who provide supervised care and assistance tot
said resident owners.
