RESOLUTION NO. 85 -69'
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RETROACTIVE PAY
ADJUSTMENT FOR THE UNDERSHERIFF AND CHIEF
CRIMINAL DEPUTY
WHEREAS, the County Council has previously agreed to adjust
the salaries of the Undersheriff and Chief Criminal Deputy to
the same percentage rate as the Deputy Sheriff's Collective
Bargaining Unit; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Deputy Sheriff's Collective
Bargaining Unit have not yet reached an agreement with the
County; and
WHEREAS, it appears any agreement between the County and the
Deputys cannot become final until after January 1, 1986; and
WHEREAS, under the law, unrepresented employees cannot
receive retroactive pay unless the Council approves such
action in advance;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Undersheriff and Chief Criminal Deputy shall
receive, retroactive to the effective date of the Agreement,
a pay adjustment at the same percentage rate, or amount, as
the Deputy Sheriff's Collective Bargaining Agreement provides
for the members of the unit. Provided, however, that the
appropriate ammendments to the salary resolution be brought
forward to the Council at the appropriate time for approval.
