RESOLUTION NO. 85 -63
A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT CONTINUATION OF THE TAE LEVIED
UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 82-68 AS AHMED, IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE
OPERATION OF NECESSARY COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES IN 1986
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 82.68 (contained in Chapter 3.32 of.the Whatcom County
Code) imposes a sales and use tax, pursuant to R.C.W. 82.14.030(2); and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 82 -68 was amended by Ordinance No. 83 -20 to provide
that the tax shall "expire on December 31, of each. year, unless the Council
shall by separate resolution adopted during the month of November each year,
find that continuation of this ordinance and the tax levied hereunder is
esseft4 al for the operation of necessary County governmental services "; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the County Executive's proposed 1986 budget:
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that
continuation of Ordinance No. 82 -68 (as amended) and the tax levied thereunder
is essential for the operation of necessary County governmental services and
shall remain in effect.
